Landslides and surface cracks were observed along the shoreline following the drop in water levels at the Suat Uğurlu Dam in the Ayvacık district of Samsun. The controlled withdrawal of water from the lake, which was planned for renovations to the dam gates, triggered landslides along the Orhangazi neighborhood’s shoreline. The resulting ground changes have caused unrest in the region.
